Didn’t stay hence no room review. We recently had our staff Christmas meal at the Downe Arms and the service, food and atmosphere was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in our party of twelve. Our check in was easy room spotless breakfast was just what we needed before a day of walking. We stayed here nervous of previous reviews. We have just stayed at the Downe Arms Inn for two nights while attending aa wedding at Danby Castle. The inn prides itself on its cleanliness and warmth, ensuring every stay feels like home.
This spot is remarkable for its professional service. Unfortunately due to the change over we are only able to accept cash at this time as our card terminals have been shut off! Castleton is a beautiful village and The Downe is a beautiful pub. Category C (41%)- buildings of local importance, probably with some overlap with English Grade II. There are also locally listed structures (at the discretion of local authorities) using A, B and C designations. In England and Wales there are three main listing designations; Grade I (2.5%) – exceptional interest, sometimes considered to be internationally important.

Accommodation is clean and comfortable and has all you need for an overnight stay. Would stay again Have stayed overnight before. Great for an overnight stay. There are good golf courses at Kirkbymoorside and Scarborough, a steam railway and trout fishing at Pickering, and castles, gardens and museums all close by including Helmsley Castle, Duncombe Park and Ryedale Folk Museum. East Ayton pubs in castleton lies just a mile below the village and has a good local shop, fish and chip restaurant and country pub. The original 12th century church was altered in later periods and has been fully restored, and also has links to the famous Whitby Abbey. Ample roadside parking outside property. With the coastal towns of Whitby and Scarborough close by, this Hutton Buscel cottage provides a superb base, any time of the year.

This location is more reliable for Common Crossbill and closer views of common woodland birds, including Goldcrest, Coal Tit, Treecreeper and Green and Great Spotted Woodpeckers. View from several gates along the side of the road, checking in between the rows of sapling trees. In times past Castleton was the main market and industrial town serving Upper Eskdale.
It’s an inch-perfect box kick from Morgan-Williams into the Cardiff 22. Ospreys centre Keiran Williams races clear up-field but the visitors don’t make the most of their opportunity. But the Ospreys hit back at the stroke of half-time as Edwards sliced open the Cardiff defence before offloading to explosive centre Williams for the try.
